Blending world music with improvisation and influences of modern American jazz artists such as Ahmad Jamal, Keith Jarrett, and Bill Evans, Age Garcia is a pianist
who creates a mood all his own. Known throughout his native Brazil as a performer, composer, and music director, Age Garcia arrived in south Florida last year for the opportunity to introduce Americans to his distinctive
instrumental style.
In September 2002, his first CD, Alabastro, produced by Tom Harney for Golden Dome Records, is set for release. Accompanied by a drummer and bassist, The Age Garcia Trio will soon be
scheduling live performances in South Florida.
In addition to headlining in his own instrumental and electronic shows throughout Brazil, Age has opened for
American Roben Ford, played with Argentinean Blues Artist Valentin Cora, and Brazilian Bossa Nova great, George Durand. His professional commitment to music credits him as Music Director of the weekly Café Concerto
Teatro Nacional in Brazil’s capitol city, piano/keyboard instructor at Brasilia’s ArteMed-Music School, and composer for musical productions, short films and soundtracks. Age’s popular national tour and multi-media
show, Giral, combining his music with visual arts (designed by artist Humberto Brasil) was highlighted on the cover of Brazil’s Mulltimidia Magazine in August, 2000. More information on Age Garcia, Alabastro, and the performance schedule of The Age Garcia Trio, can be found at Mr. Garcia’s website, www.agegarcia.hpg.com.br .
